Traverse City does a lot of things well, and craft beer is certainly at the very top of that list. Traverse City Beer Week is BACK November 10-17!
There are dozens of events to get excited about all year long in Northern Michigan, but this one gets circled twice in our book. TCBW is a perfectly-timed, week-long celebration of all things craft beer, giving revelers chances to see how it’s made, the best ways to enjoy it, and plenty of varieties to sample and explore.
Back for 2017, the event offers beer tastings at a number of local breweries and restaurants. Tastings at Kap n Keg and Brew start things off on November 10, with Tapistry Brewing featured at both locations. There are also daily tours on offer that hit no fewer than 8 local establishments over the course of the tour. Blue Tractor, Sleder’s, and Workshop all feature making it a true Traverse City excursion.
New for this year is the Flapjack & Flannel Festival on November 11 at Timber Ridge. The same folks that host the Suds’n’Snow Festival each March have teamed up to bring you a fall affair featuring, you guessed it, pancakes and beer, with plentiful folds of flannel as well. Over ten breweries, more than 30 beers, expert (yes, expert) pancake pairings plus live music all afternoon long.
If you’re looking to earn your ‘cakes, your daily dose of physical exertion is just a few miles away at the Great Beerd Run at the Grand Traverse Resort. The 5k run/walk features a free beard, shirt, a chance at medals that just happen to be bottle openers, plus a very cool beer tent right at the resort. You can get you and your pals signed up for the Beerd Run here.
